Neal Statement Following Supreme Court Ruling on Anti-LGBTQ Workplace Discrimination

Springfield, MA – Congressman Richard E. Neal released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia, ruling that federal employment non-discrimination laws protect all LGBTQ employees:

"As the country recognizes Pride Month, the Supreme Court reaffirms that all Americans - no matter who they love - are protected from discrimination in the workplace," said Congressman Neal. "Federal law was upheld today in the 6-3 decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia, and it was a momentous victory for the LGBTQ community and our nation as a whole. I will continue to use my position as Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means to ensure that LGBTQ individuals receive fair treatment in the tax code and to reaffirm the declaration that there is no place for hate or discrimination of any kind here in our country."
