Lee, MA – Congressman Richard E. Neal joined Boyd Technologies CEO Stephen Boyd and CCO Matthew Boyd for a tour of their advanced materials and technology company and discussion of their response to COVID-19.

The facility in Lee is currently scaling up production for personal protective equipment (PPE), including surgical masks and N95 respirators. According to the company, they will have annual capacity of 60 million pieces of PPE in 2021.

In addition, Boyd Technologies is working with FreMon Scientific, a San Diego, California-based company to manufacture and produce their ZipSleeve™. This disposable sleeve fits into the ZipThaw™ device for a safe, portable way to transport and thaw plasma. Both of these instruments will play an important role as the nation continues to discover new therapies and vaccines to combat this pandemic.

“The work that is being done right here in Lee is helping our nation address the health and economic crises it faces due to the pandemic,” said Congressman Neal. “Ultimately, our economy won’t recover until we beat the virus. That is why Boyd Technologies’ work is so important, as is their partnership with FreMon Scientific. While at the site, Congressman Neal also took the time to meet with employees and thank them for their work during the pandemic.
