Chairman Neal Statement on House Passage of the Moving Forward Act
Washington, DC,
July 1, 2020
Today, House Ways and Means Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement commending the House of Representatives’ passage of H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act: “Today’s passage of the Moving Forward Act brings us one step closer to reinvigorating our economy and making long overdue investments in our country’s infrastructure. From expanding broadband access to creating new routes in our rail system, every corner of the nation stands to benefit from this package. I’m especially proud of the Ways and Means Committee’s contributions to this bill, including the largest tax investment in combatting climate change that Congress has ever made. Advancing this legislation will do exactly what the bill’s title suggests: move our country forward. We can come out of this crisis stronger than ever by seizing the unique opportunity in front of us to modernize and uplift our communities while creating good jobs and getting Americans back to work. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to rise to this moment and pass the Moving Forward Act.” ## |
