Neal Reiterates Support for the Northern Ireland Protocol

Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman and Co-Chair of the Congressional Friends of Ireland Caucus Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement regarding proposed legislation in the United Kingdom (UK) that would allow for the dismantling of the Northern Ireland Protocol: “Preserving peace and stability on the island of Ireland is essential. Undoing the Northern Ireland Protocol could compromise the facilitation of post-Brexit trade between the UK and the European Union. The progress achieved thanks to the Good Friday Agreement should be maintained.” ## |
