Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after House Republicans’ latest failure in their chaotic quest to fund the federal government:

“House Republicans have abandoned their oath to the American people. While they may not feel the consequences of their instability, 7 million women and children are preparing to be turned away at grocery stores, our servicemembers are grappling with working without pay, countless federal employees stand to be furloughed, and law enforcement could be taken off the streets.”
