Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed a Continuing Resolution to fund the government through November 17, 2023: 

“Today, the will of the American people prevailed. House Democrats secured funding for disaster relief and blocked Republicans from stymieing our funding bills with political poison pills. All while avoiding yet another disastrous Republican shutdown. It’s a relief, but this stopgap measure doesn’t absolve my colleagues of their chaos, conspiracies, and cuts. Their inability to govern remains the largest threat to our economic recovery and the American people.”
