Neal Celebrates Record 20 Million Americans Enrolled in Affordable Care Act Health Care

Today, Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement following the news that a record 20 million Americans enrolled in health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act marketplaces during the 2024 Open Enrollment period:

"The numbers say it all: thanks to Democrats’ investments in health care, a historic, record-breaking 20 million Americans have already enrolled in high-quality, affordable health care through the Affordable Care Act. In the 14 years since Ways and Means Democrats delivered this landmark law, it has become a pillar of our nation’s economic and health security. Today’s milestone is far from the only record-breaking result: more Americans are insured today than ever before, and the over 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions rely on the enhanced consumer protections that give them essential peace of mind.

“Ways and Means Democrats will never back down from our commitment to defend the Affordable Care Act from Republican threats and our fight to make accessible, affordable health care a reality for all Americans.”

Americans can visit HealthCare.gov to explore coverage options and select a plan during the 2024 Open Enrollment period, which ends January 16, 2024.
