Today, Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) May 2024 jobs report:

“How many months of consecutive job growth will it take for Republicans to stop rooting against an objectively strong economy? After 40, one would think they’d finally recognize our record-breaking success, built for workers, and powered by workers. Wages are rising, unemployment remains near record-lows for the longest stretch in decades, and gains are widespread across sectors. Kowtowing to the will of billionaires and big corporations won’t unlock the fullest potential of our economy, only workers and paychecks can do that. We will always believe in the strength of the American worker.”
