Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement marking the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization:

“Two years ago, Trump’s Supreme Court majority stripped the American people of a fundamental constitutional right and denied millions of their right to choose. They put countless lives at risk and forced so many to travel across state lines for proper medical care. Their War on Women didn’t stop there. Since then, they’ve only moved to their next phase, assailing contraception and fertility treatments, and turning a blind eye as the majority of Americans make it clear that they believe health care decisions should be between a patient and their doctor.

“We’ve given Republicans several opportunities to enshrine these rights into law, and they’ve refused. Their extremism flies in the face of the will of the American people, and we will not stop fighting until Roe v. Wade is restored as the law of the land.”
