Washington, D.C.,
January 15, 2025
Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the House voted to pass H.R. 33, the United States-Taiwan Expedited Double-Tax Relief Act: “Strengthening the partnership between the United States and Taiwan is imperative for both our economies and national security. Our alliance is ripe for expanded investment, and this bipartisan, bicameral effort sends a clear message that the United States strongly stands with the Taiwanese people and will promote Taiwanese investment in the U.S. semiconductor industry and increase domestic CHIP manufacturing, all while creating good paying jobs in the process. The House has now done our part many times in moving H.R. 33, and the Senate must now move swiftly to stand with a key ally and get this signed into law.” ### |
