Thank you to the members of the Committee and our colleagues in Congress for taking the time to participate in a time-honored tradition, Member Day. I won’t take up too much time since we have the pleasure of 44 of our colleagues—from both sides of the aisle—joining us today, but it bears repeating that ideas to improve the lives of the American people come from all sorts of places. Today is an opportunity to hear diverse viewpoints on a range of priorities. 

In the Ways and Means Committee, we don’t just debate the issues. We find real solutions to the challenges facing the people, and that’s what we are here to do today. Put the people’s work first and strengthen our nation’s future. 

And with that, I yield back the balance of my time.
