Today, Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee doubled down on a painful and reckless scam that sells out their own constituents—their health care, their jobs, and their paychecks—to funnel more money to the ultra-wealthy.

Democrats fought to blunt the damage for 17 hours by offering 38 amendments to shield the American people from the worst of the bill—protecting health care, defending job-creating investments in manufacturing and the green energy economy, cutting taxes for working families, and making sure handouts don’t go to those who don’t need them.

Republicans rejected every single one.

With their votes, Republicans made their priorities painfully clear: a tax and spending plan that will leave seniors without housing, families without food, and vulnerable Americans without care.
