On Friday, President Trump signed the $2.2 trillion stimulus bill to support the country’s COVID-19 response.

The package of legislation cleared the Senate by unanimous vote and nearly unanimous in the House of Representatives.

On Saturday, House Ways and Means Chair Richard Neal, who represents Massachusetts’ 1st Congressional District, spoke to the press, outlining the provisions in the bill.

Notable inclusions are $1,200 payments that will go to individuals making less than $75,000 per year, the expansion of unemployment insurance, and loans and grants for small businesses and municipalities.

WAMC's Lucas Willard spoke with the Democrat about the bill and the massive amount of support it received in Washington.
