Neal Praises Committee Passage of Economic Mobility Act

Today, Ways and Means Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the Committee passed historic tax relief for the middle class, H.R. 3300, the Economic Mobility Act of 2019:

“Our committee has passed the most significant pro-work, poverty-reducing tax bill in at least a decade for residents of all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and other U.S. territories. It provides an important economic boost for middle-class families who continue to struggle in this economy – something Republicans failed to do with their failed tax legislation two years ago. At a time when four out of ten Americans don’t have enough cash to cover a $400 emergency expense, this legislation helps bridge the gap between what people need, and what they can afford. The Economic Mobility Act is an investment in our workforce, families, and economy, and I’m proud that the Ways and Means Committee advanced it.”
