Neal Statement on IRS Failure to Meet April 10 Deadline

Today, Ways & Means Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced the IRS would not meet Chairman Neal’s April 10 deadline to furnish six years of President Trump’s personal and business tax returns: “I received a letter this evening from Secretary Mnuchin related to my request to the IRS commissioner. The department has decided not to allow the IRS to comply with my request by the April 10 deadline. I will consult with counsel and determine the appropriate response to the commissioner in the coming days.” ### |
